Wintertime emergencies for your Canine friend whether inside or out !!!
If outside always make sure their food is out of the weather so it does not get wet and mold
make sure their water is out of the weather so it does not freeze. drinking water and licking ice is different.
Frostbite ---- Your puppy can suffer frostbite on his ears, feet and tail. Symptoms include pale, glossy skin which reddens and becomes painful. Immediately take the puppy into a warm place. Thaw out frostbitten areas by applying warm, moist towels that changed frequently. Continue until the affected areas become flushed.
SEVERE FROSTBITE CAN RESULT IN DAMAGED FEET AND EARS, SO LET THE VETERINARIAN CHECK THE INJURIES.
