More love to go around

SUMMER TIME ITS TIME TO BE OUTSIDE AND ACCIDENTS DO HAPPEN SO BE READY FOR YOUR COMPANION !!!!!

BEE AND WASP STINGS CAN BE PAINFUL AND FRIGHTENING FOR A DOG SO IF STUNG :::

1. CAREFULLY REMOVE THE STINGER WITH A PAIR OF TWEEZERS IF POSSIBLE ( ONLY BEES LEAVE STINGERS )

2. MAKE A PASTE OF BAKING SODA AND WATER AND APPLY TO THE AREA.

3. APPLY AN ICE PACK TO RELIEVE SWELLING AND PAIN (5-10 ON ) (5-10 OFF) THEY WILL LOVE YOU FOR IT.

4. COMFORT THE DOG UNTIL THE PAIN HAS DIMINISHED.

 IF STUNG ON THE NOSE, MOUTH OR AROUND THE HEAD WATCH CAREFULLY MAKE SURE ANY SWELLING DOES NOT INTERFERE WITH BREATHING OR SWALLOWING IF SWELLING INCREASES DRAMATICALLY JUST A FEW MINUTES AFTER THE STING SEE (((( VET IMMEDIATELY ))))). THEY MAY SUGGEST CERTAIN AMOUNT OF BENEDRYLE POSSIBLY STERIODS DEPENDING ON THE SEVERITY OF THE STING AND REACTION THEY HAVE TO THE STING.   GOOD LUCK HOPE NO ONE GETS STUNG BUT THERE EVERYWHERE THERE EVERYWHERE.

WE ALL ENJOY HAVING COOK OUTS BUT IF DOG GETS TO CLOSE TO THE FIRE AND GETS BURNED  !!!!!       ALSO BE AWARE OF FIREWORKS !!

FOR 1ST (FIRST DEGREE) BURNS  MEANING -- (  REDDENED SKIN AND SINGED HAIR  ), APPLY COLD  WATER OR ICE .

FOR 2ND (SECOND OR THIRD) 3RD DEGREE BURNS MEANING --   (   SKIN MAY BE SWOLLEN, LOOSE OR DISCOLORED  ), COVER THE BURN WITH A COOL, DAMP CLOTH    ((((((    DO NOT USE COTTON    )))))  THEN RUSH PUPPY, DOG TO THE VET FOR TREATMENT. BECAUSE THE RISK OF INFECTION IS HIGH !!!!   DO NOT APPLY ANY OINTMENTS TO THE BURNS

FOR CHEMICAL BURNS. FLUSH SKIN WITH WATER FOR 10-15 MINUTES BEFORE TAKING PUPPY TO THE VETERINARIAN.

OUTSIDE RUNNING PLAYING JUMPING HAVING A GREAT TIME THEN SUDDENLY YOU SEE OR HEAR    (  BROKEN BONE  ) !!!!!

RESTRICT MOVEMENT WHILE IN ROUTE TO THE VETERINARIAN AND CONTROL ANY SERIOUS BLEEDING IF FAR FROM MEDICAL HELP,

1. WRAP THE LIMB WITH COTTON;

2. SPLINT FRONT LEGS OR UPPER BACK LEGS WITH A STICK, ROLLED NEWS PAPER OR SIMILAR OBJECT;

3 THEN WRAP LOSLEY WITH GAUZE ((( THIS WILL STABLEIZE THE BREAK ENROUTE  ))))  NOW GO TO VET IMMEDIATELY.

OUTSIDE PLAYING UNFAMILAR AREA DOG GETS SOMETHING IN THEIR THROAT STARTS (((((CHOKING))))) !!! WHAT TO DO

1. PUSH THE PUPPY'S LOWER JAW OPEN AND TILT HIS HEAD UP

( USING EXTREME CAUTION, TRY TO REMOVE OBJECT WITH YOUR FINGERS. IF UNSUCCESSFUL,

2. KNEEL BEHIND HIM, HOLDING HIS BODY JUST BELOW THE RIBS,

3. SQUEEZE HARD A FEW TIMES, PRESSING UP (((( IF OBJECT DOES NOT POP OUT )))))

4. RUSH THEM TO THE VETERINARIAN

LOVE TO GO SWIMMING IN THE SUMMERTIME ??    MOST OF THEM DO TO AND MOST CAN SWIM BUT IF THEY DROWN !!!!

1. IF THEY WERE TO DROWN HOLD THEM UP SIDE DOWN FOR 10-15 SECONDS.

IF KNOWLEDGEABLE, ADMINISTER CPR OR ARTIFICIAL RESPIRATION (( FOR THOSE THAT ARE NOT I WILL PUT IT ON OUR SITE FOR YOU ))

2. WRAP THEM WARMLY AND GET THEM TO THE VETERINARIAN.

SUMMER-TIME CALLS FOR SEVERE HEAT MOST YEARS DON'T LET THEM GET OVER-HEATED !!  ((( HEATSTROKE OR HEAT PROSTRATION )))

SYMPTOMS INCLUDE EXCESSIVE PANTING, HIGH FEVER AND COLLAPSE.

1. LOWER THE DOGS BODY TEMPERATURE BY HOSING DOWN OR IMMERSING THE DOG IN COOL WATER UP TO HIS NECK FOR 10 MINUTES.

UNLESS YOUR VETERINARIAN RECOMMENDS IT.     IF VOMITED, SOME POISONS CAN BE MORE HAZARDOUS  !!!!!!!!! TO YOUR PUPPY/DOG IF POSSIBLE TAKE THE POISON CONTAINER TO THE VET WITH YOU.

((SHOCK))  CAN BE CAUSED BY MANY THINGS HYPOVALEMIC - LOSS OF BLOOD,   ANAPHALATIC - ALLERGIC REACTION THE LIST GOES ON AND ON.             ((((   TREATMENT FOR SHOCK IN DOGS   ))))
